Art by Ness Hernandez

Ness Hernandez is a multidisciplinary artist located in south Florida. They practice many artistic mediums, with a focus on photography, writing, & illustration. They’re interested in investigating the intersectional themes of identity, culture, & the influences of the internet (especially social media). Their work attempts to examine the ways in which we internalize our pain, stigma, social constructs, & prejudices. Their aim is to unite others through art.

They won the Fred Shaw Poetry Contest in 2014. Their poetry has been published in scholarly literary magazines in 2015-15 & their installations as well as a collaborative performance art piece have been showcased at the Dr. Phillips Center for the performing arts in 2017 in the “UCF Celebrates the Arts” annual event.
